As part of the power transmission package, industrial gearboxes serve as a way to reduce speed and increase torque in a drive. Most commonly connected to an electric motor directly or through a coupling or v-belt drive, gearboxes are capable of large ratio reductions that are not easily possible with other means. In the United States, right angle worm gearboxes are popular as well as shaft mount reducers in the grain and aggregate industry. Increasing in popularity are the helical (in line), helical-worm and helical-bevel gearboxes which are more common in the rest of the world.
Gearboxes have often been complicated and exasperating to users. Many ratios, input varieties, and output shaft variations have made them virtually impossible to stock. Well, we have good news!
At Whisler Bearings & Drives, we have our own Gearbox Center. We assemble worm gear, helical (in line), helical-worm and helical-bevel gearboxes off our shelf. We stock all the components to assemble gearboxes from 1/4HP to 20HP. We can cover ratios from 3:1 to 3600:1 off the shelf. Our gearboxes are interchangeable with other major manufacturers so they are a drop in replacement.
Whisler Bearings & Drives assembles Cone Drive Worm Gearboxes in their Denver facility. These gearboxes are direct interchanges with Baldor, Boston, Browning, Dodge Tigear, Falk, Grove Gear, Leeson, Morse, Ohio Gear, Perfection Gear and Sterling. We are stocking center distances from 1.33” to 3.54” and ratios up to 60:1. We also assemble double reduction gearboxes up to 3600:1 ratio.
Gearbox - Radicon Model M
We assemble Radicon Model M Helical In Line Gearboxes up to 20HP and ratios from 3.6:1 to 225:1 in Denver. Model M gearboxes are direct drop-ins for SEW Eurodrive, Nord Gear and many other manufacturers. They are available to accommodate standard off the shelf C-Flange Motors. Larger sizes are available to ship within 1-2 days from the factory.
Gearbox - Radicon Model C
We assemble Radicon Model C Helical-Worm Gearboxes up to 20HP and ratios from 8:1 to 900:1 in Denver. These are available with hollow bores or single/double extended output shafts. All Model C Gearboxes allow mounting of standard off the shelf C-Flange Motors. Larger sizes are available to ship within 1-2 days from the factory. Replacements for SEW Eurodrive & Nord Gear.
Gearbox - Radicon Model F
Radicon Model F Shaft Mount Helical Reducers are available for up to 30HP drives with ratios from 5:1 to 100:1. All Model F Gearboxes allow mounting of standard off the shelf C-Flange Motors. Replacements for SEW Eurodrive & Nord Gear. They also provide a compact replacement for conventional v-belt driven shaft mount reducers such as Dodge, Falk, and Browning. All Model F Gearboxes are available to ship from the factory within 1-2 days.
Gearbox - Radicon Model K
We assemble Radicon Model K Helical-Bevel Gearboxes up to 20HP and ratios from 8:1 to 1000:1 in Denver. These are available with hollow bores or single/double extended output shafts. All Model K Gearboxes allow mounting of standard off the shelf C-Flange Motors. Larger sizes are available to ship within 1-2 days from the factory. Replacements for SEW Eurodrive & Nord Gear.
Gearbox-Dodge TXT Shaft Mount
We are stocking Dodge Shaft Mount Reducers and all their components in our Denver inventory. We are also stocking shim and seal kits. We also stock North American Electric Shaft Mounts as an economical equivalent.
